
Our students have been working on water resources so we took the opportunity to use the microscope obtained through the Education Foundation Grant to see the different organisms in pond water to identify and see how they may affect animals and humans.

Students in the Restaurant Management made breakfast for the teachers to enjoy for Teacher Appreciation. They cooked bacon, sausage, and pancakes.

The students in the Culinary program took a field trip to Texas A&M - Department of Hospitality, Hotel Management, and Tourism. Students also toured the Hotel and Conference center.
The students met with one of the Executive Chefs, Professors, and the Department Chair for the Hospitality program.



Teacher Appreciation Week: Somerville Church of God provided yummy treats and the Somerville EL/INT Admin Team also treated the staff with various snacks! Thank you for the goodies! We appreciate our staff and community members!





Yesterday we kicked Teacher Appreciation Week off with a coffee bar and hand-delivered snacks at the high school! We love our teachers!

8th Grade Parents/Guardians,
Our 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 23rd at 6PM in the Yegua Center. All 8th grade students are encouraged to attend as this is when they will receive their awards and certificates. Students are encouraged to wear business attire as possible - no crocs, slides, graphic t-shirts or shorts.
Please have them there 15 minutes prior to the event to meet Mrs. Balboa at the front of the high school.

We want to welcome everyone to come and view the projects our 8th- 12th grade students have been working on from 11:30 am to 12:15 pm in the Yegua Center! Please enter through the front of the Yegua Center to get a visitor sticker, you will need your license to check-in.

SISD's LUNCH HERO WEEK honors the most wonderful ladies in aprons: Margie Vela, Claudia Saldierna, Marilyn Jackson, Carmen Davis, Karla Rangel, and not pictured: Renee Mantey, Aleasha Bosquez, and Johanna Maddox!! Thank you for all you do to provide yummy meals and happiness to our kiddos!
