Congratulations to ten Somerville High School Band members for receiving a first division rating on a level one ensemble at the UIL Region 18/26 Solo & Ensemble Contest this past Saturday at Smithville High School. The following students received a first-division rating for their performance of a clarinet transcription of Eine Kleine Nachtmusik by W.A. Mozart:

Judge's comments included "technically well prepared", "tempo is a bit too slow:", "nice dynamics, work for more", "I really enjoyed your performance."
The following students received a first division for their performance of a transcribed work by George F. Handel called Adagio and Allegro::

These students will travel to Pflugerville on May 27, 2024, to perform at Hendrickson High School for the UIL State Solo & Ensemble Contest. Congratulations again to these outstanding musicians!
