Hello Yeguas! State and federal law enforcement agencies have made us aware of a statewide bomb threat hoax directed toward various school districts across Texas. Both state and federal law enforcement agencies do NOT believe this is a credible threat and may have originated in Russia. No threats have been made toward Somerville ISD, but we will let you know if there are any additional developments.

Pre-K & 1st Grade Field Trip to Dewberry Farm! Looks like a lot of fun with the little yeguas!
Congratulations to four members of the Somerville Middle School Band for earning a chair in the ATSSB All-Region 18/26 Band. The contest was held at Smithville HS this past Saturday, December 2nd. The selected Somerville students include the following:
Jaelee Landolt - Symphonic (1st) Band, 11th chair Clarinet out of 76
Rhyan Ricci - Concert (2nd) Band, 15th chair Clarinet out of 76
Tanner Moore - Concert Band, 14th chair Tenor Trombone out of 47
Anette Reyna - Concert Band Alternate, 17th chair Percussion out of 81
Participating schools included Brentwood Christian, Burton, Caldwell, Columbus, Danford (Wimberley), Flatonia, Giddings, Gonzales, Hallettsville, LaGrange, Lexington, Manor New Tech, McDade, Richards School, Rockdale, Shiner, Smithville, St. Paul Lutheran, Taylor, Thrall, Thorndale, and Weimar.
The four Somerville students will join the other members of the all region band for a two day clinic / concert on January 12th and 13th at the Bastrop Wilhelm Performing Arts Complex. More details will follow. Congratulations to all of these wonderful musicians. Way to go Somerville.

Thank you to Masonic Children and Family Services for their generous donation of oral hygiene kits for our 1st-grade students. Each student received a kit containing a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, and a timer to take home. Our school nurse, Amie Eschete, provided a presentation with the kits to talk about how to keep their teeth healthy.

Today Pre-K was full of Pirates and Princesses as they celebrated learning about the letter P/p! They had several special guests come to read to them throughout the day, including SISD superintendent (Mr. Holton), elementary principal (Mr. Lindsey), elementary assistant principal (Mrs. Wiser), board members (Joe Gonzales, Linda Pinkerton, Kim Casanova), HS student (Savannah Eschete), and Pirate John! It was the perfect day full of fun and learning for Pre-K!








We are so excited to announce the Varsity Cheer squad will be hosting mini cheer camp again this year. Everyone from Pre-K through 7th grade is invited to join us. Camp shirts available to early registers only. Forms will be sent home with students this week!
