Band Practice Clarification: From August 1st to September 6th, the UIL Music Department is restricting all band programs from teaching the marching drill of their UIL Contest Show. However, all bands can practice the music of their contest show and practice marching fundamentals only. They are also allowed to rehearse a "Pop Show" for football games with simple drill moves that have nothing to do with the UIL Drill. All bands are allowed to begin rehearsing their UIL Show on September 7th. Mr. Idlebird will see you at your scheduled practice time!

Students, Parents, & Staff, In an effort to keep our students and staff healthy, Somerville ISD will not host a face to face summer academic camp in July. Instead, we will provide at-home remote instruction that can be accomplished with or without the internet for 1st through 7th grade, and high school students will still be able to regain credit on-line through an online platform called APEX. If your child was chosen to participate in summer camp you will be receiving more implicit information next week on what to expect for instruction from your campus Principal. We are currently working on plans to provide every student a device from K-12th grade next school year. If you would like to access free instruction and plans from TEA please click on the link below. https://texashomelearning.org Be safe and stay healthy, Karla Sparks Superintendent Somerville ISD

Students, Parents, & Staff, We planned out a very safe plan to implement instruction on campus, however; with the spike in COVID 19 cases in our county and surrounding areas we felt it would be best not to take any chances. In an effort to keep our students and staff healthy, Somerville ISD will not be hosting a face to face summer academic camp in July. We are still planning to provide at-home remote instruction that can be accomplished with or without the internet for 1st through 7th grades, and high school students will still be able to regain credit on-line through an online platform called APEX. If your child was chosen to participate in summer camp you will be receiving more implicit information next week on what to expect from your campus Principal. Please be sure to also check out the free online Texas at Home Learning platform through TEA linked here for other learning resources. https://texashomelearning.org We are working on providing a device for every student from Kindergarten to 12th grade next year. Please stay safe by staying home and as always if you have any questions feel free to contact us. Be safe and stay healthy, Karla Sparks Superintendent
