Proposed Future Career, Technical, Education (CTE) Programs of Study
Somerville ISD's 2024-2029 Strategic Plan identifies Student Academic Experiences as one of our main three priorities for the district. SISD has committed to expanding Career and Technical Education (CTE) opportunities for students based on student interest, local and statewide industry needs, and programs of study that offer SISD graduates the best opportunities for employment or attending trade school beyond high school. The strategic plan also prioritizes offering career pathways that include coherent course sequences, industry-based certifications, and work-based learning opportunities to ensure students are prepared for high-wage, in-demand, and high-skill careers in Texas.
SISD currently offers the following four CTE programs of study: Animal Science, Agricultural Technology & Mechanical Systems, Business Management, and Culinary Arts. The proposed future CTE programs of study below address the priority of Student Academic Experiences outlined in SISD's 2024-2029 Strategic Plan.
