
The Yegua Coffee Cart began selling and serving beverages and snacks this morning. Great job to the students for their hard work and great customer service this morning. Ms. Hampton is the coordinator for the Yegua Coffee Cart.



Out of an abundance of caution and due to expected unsafe road conditions through midday tomorrow, Somerville ISD will be closed on Wednesday, January 22. Classes will resume on Thursday, January 23rd, following our regular schedule.

Due to the approaching winter weather storm, Somerville ISD will be closed, and all after-school activities will be canceled on Tuesday, January 21. We will communicate a decision on Wednesday's school day status as soon as possible, depending on road conditions and guidance from local emergency management officials.

This year, we focused on creating a calendar that maximized professional development opportunities for our staff at the beginning and end of each six weeks. This has allowed our staff to take full advantage of planning together and analyzing student data trends to more effectively meet the needs of our students. Congratulations to five members of the Somerville Band for being selected to the TMEA / ATSSB All-Region Middle School Band. The contest was held on Saturday, December 14th at Smithville High School. There were over thirty schools represented by 700 students. in this rigorous individual try-out. The following Somerville students were chosen:
Faith Fernandez - Bb Soprano Clarinet - Symphonic (1st) Band
Mason Novosad - Cornet / Trumpet - Concert (2nd) Band
Ariana Zamora Ramirez - Tenor Trombone - Concert Band
Ethan Ramirez - Baritone / Euphonium - Concert
Corbin Neuendorff - Tuba - Concert.
These students will rehearse and perform in the All-Region Clinic / Concert from January 24th - 25th, 2025. Congratulations again to these fine musicians!
