Jicama is a root vegetable from Mexico. It is sometimes called the Mexican potato or yam bean. Jicama is brown on the outside, creamy white on the inside, oblong in shape, and quite large, similar to an oversized potato. Jicama has a crisp texture inside, similar to an apple, and is quite starchy.
We are having Jicama for lunch today!!! Ask your child how they liked it!

The students in the Culinary Pathway discovered plating techniques and adding garnishes can be very simple and easy to do. Many times the plates you see at fancy restaurants look as if the Chef was an artist. Students discovered they too could be an artist with food. Way to Go Culinary Yeguas!!!!

Today in Mrs. Webb's class a sneaky Leprechaun visited the Pre-K classrooms and made a MESS! The kids were kind and cleaned up after him and have been working on building a trap to catch him! They are excited to see if their brilliant ideas/plans work to trap him tonight! We'll see in the morning if they were successful or if Lucky the Leprechaun has disappeared until next year!

Congratulations to our Yegua Chiefs!
