Congratulations to five members of the Somerville Band for being selected to the TMEA / ATSSB All-Region Middle School Band. The contest was held on Saturday, December 14th at Smithville High School. There were over thirty schools represented by 700 students. in this rigorous individual try-out. The following Somerville students were chosen:
Faith Fernandez - Bb Soprano Clarinet - Symphonic (1st) Band
Mason Novosad - Cornet / Trumpet - Concert (2nd) Band
Ariana Zamora Ramirez - Tenor Trombone - Concert Band
Ethan Ramirez - Baritone / Euphonium - Concert
Corbin Neuendorff - Tuba - Concert.
These students will rehearse and perform in the All-Region Clinic / Concert from January 24th - 25th, 2025. Congratulations again to these fine musicians!

The following students participated in the Vet Science Contest at Long Acres Ranch in Richmond last Friday, December 13. They had a great learning experience and look forward to future competitions: left to right: Gage Tuck, Colt Holton, Nalja Sadic, Deianca Nix, and Destiney Hill.
This past Saturday, the Intermediate Student Council successfully hosted a pancake breakfast for students from Pre-k to 4th grade. The event showcased teamwork and community spirit, thanks to the efforts of many, including Mr. and Mrs. Wiser for coordinating Santa's attendance, our dedicated cooks Mr. Howe, Mr. Daly, and Ms. Weikel, our advertiser Coach Baloba, the lady Yeguas varsity basketball team, and supportive local families. We are excited about the upcoming activities planned for the rest of the year!

Attention All Yeguas!
We are excited to announce that we will provide a fan bus for our football playoff game vs. Junction this Friday! The bus will depart from the Somerville admin building at 3:00 on Friday and will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Students 13 years or younger must have an adult accompanying them. Any SISD student not accompanied by a parent must complete a field trip permission form, which can obtained on-site prior to leaving for Pflugerville. The fan bus will also be available to the public who may wish to ride as well. Any adult riding the fan bus must bring their driver's license so that they can be checked in before boarding the bus, and it is recommended that you arrive no later than 2:45. Please be advised that all participants riding the bus are responsible for purchasing their ticket. If you would like to be guaranteed a spot on the fan bus, please email nstevens@somervilleisd.org, cyoung@somervilleisd.org, or eholton@somervilleisd.org by noon on Friday. In your email, you will need to provide your name and the names/ages of anyone else riding with you on the fan bus. THSCA, District, and Senior passes accepted.
